Quick Bio

Tony Stratman grew up in Affton, St. Louis, MO graduating from Affton High School in 2004, where he began playing volleyball as a Freshman.  Following high school, Tony continued playing competitively at Missouri Baptist University.  After graduating and majoring in Business Administration & Marketing in 2008, Tony began his career in the volleyball world by joining St. Louis Sports Center (now known as Center St. Louis) as their Volleyball Director.

In 2009, Tony formed Stratman Sports to operate events not limited to the St. Louis Sports Center facility.  Ultimately,  he left his role as Volleyball Director and became a tenant at the facility and continued operating the volleyball programs as Stratman Sports.

Within a couple years after starting Stratman Sports, the business quickly expanded with many new partnered facilities and organizations!  

Tony serves as an executive board member for the Gateway USA Volleyball Region and also serves as the Camp Administrator & Tournament Director for St. Louis' largest volleyball club - High Performance-STL.

When Tony is not directing or organizing volleyball programs, he loves to be on the court playing.  Tony lives by his motto:  "Volleyball...ALL DAY EVERYDAY!"

Coaching Background

Jeff Gamayo has been coaching since 2008.  He has been coaching for Stratman Sports since 2015 and has been directing the Intro to Volleyball Clinics since 2016.  He also directs some Community Education Developmental Volleyball Clinics that  are partnered with Stratman Sports.  He is IMPACT certified and also coaches for High Performance-STL volleyball club.

Coaching & Playing Background

Jonthan Wirtel played high school volleyball at Affton High School from 1999 to 2003. In the 2010 season of adult USAV, Jonathan and his club team, VooDoo, won the Bronze division of Men's B at the USA Volleyball Championships in Phoenix, AZ! Jonathan has been coaching developmental teams since 2002. He was an assistant coach for the Varsity boys and girls program at Webster High School from the Fall of 2009 to the Spring of 2010. Jonathan has been coaching for Stratman Sports since 2009 and has served as the Coaching Director since 2016.

Coaching & Playing Background

Sandy Matthes has been playing and/or coaching for the last 30 years.  Sandy trained and traveled internationally on the Professional Beach Volleyball Tours: EVP, WPVA, AVP, BVA, and Olympic Series.  Since 2010, she leads Stratman Sports volleyball clinics which are designed to offer students a comprehensive education in all facets of volleyball: passing, setting, serving, hitting, defense, rules, strategies, etc. from beginner to advanced levels.

Coaches

Stratman Sports' coaches consist of current & former USAV players, collegiate players, grade school to high school coaches, and/or referees. They are all seasoned players of the game and have a true passion for both playing and coaching of the sport. Our coaches have a wide array of teaching techniques and drills that they will use in order to develop the player’s individual skills and teamwork.  We are DEDICATED to teaching the lifelong sport of volleyball to ALL players!

Coaching & Playing Background:  Played 4 years high school volleyball,.  Began coaching for Club Gemini in 2015. Started coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.


Heather Boyer

Coaching & Playing Background:  Heather Boyer has been involved in volleyball for more than 30 years. She went to Windsor High School where she played four years varsity as a the starting setter and captain of the team. After high school she went on to play volleyball at Culver-Stockton College as a setter and offside hitter. She has coached for Stratman Sports since 2016.


Hannah Carey

Coaching & Playing Background:  Hannah grew up in Worthing, England, where she found her love for volleyball when she got to high school. Her P.E Teacher introduced her to the game. Hannah Started coaching in England through her club volleyball team. She Helped coach the Ashcimbe Volleyball Club U18 to a national championship. She came to America in 2012 after making it on the Missouri Baptist University volleyball team. She played for 5 years in both indoor and sand volleyball and made it to the national championship game her senior year for indoor to play one of their biggest rivals; Columbia College. She made the semi finals in sand volleyball her fifth year at MBU. After graduating in 2017, Hannah found her love for volleyball wasn’t all about playing and has since then began coaching with High Performance-STL and Stratman Sports. She hopes to continue her career by coaching full time and making young athletes into great volleyball players.


Oana Coman

Coaching & Playing Background:  Oana has been playing volleyball for over 10 years and continues to play in adult tournaments and USAV. She is a Gold Medal Squared coach, IMPACT certified, and has 7 years of experience coaching at the developmental and Club levels. She is currently the head coach of a 12 and under club team and working on her CAP 1 certification.


Todd Cook

Coaching & Playing Background:  Todd Cook has been coaching since 1994.  He has been coaching for Stratman Sports since 2016.  He also most recently coached at Notre Dame high school. He is IMPACT certified and is currently coaching for H2 St Louis Volleyball Club. 


Nathan Davis

Coaching & Playing Background:  Nathan got a late start to volleyball as he began his career his senior year of high school. He played club for Missouri Thunder before moving on to play collegiately at Hannibal-LaGrange University for two years. Nathan began coaching his senior year of high school and has been coaching various teams and camps since. Currently, he is a graduate assistant coach for the Missouri Baptist University men's team. In his free time, he writes for Volleymob, a volleyball publication that covers any and all aspects of volleyball. 


Joy Edwards

Junior Volleyball Head Coach

Coaching & Playing Background:  Joy Edwards is IMPACT and CAP I certified. She is an experienced volleyball coach for Stratman’s Junior Developmental Program. As a coach and teacher, Joy integrates  physics into coaching volleyball. She has lifetime teaching certifications in K-12 Physical Education and 5-12 Science. Having coached volleyball for over five years, Joy’s experience spans community league, public school, as well as select club levels.


Rachel Fritsch

Coaching & Playing Background:  
Rachel Fritsch has been playing volleyball since 4th grade. Rachel was Lindbergh's varsity starting middle blocker for 2 years and Junior varsity's starting middle for 2 years. Since 2017 Rachel coached in elementary school camps for Lindbergh Schools. Rachel began coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.

Coaching & Playing Background:  Started playing club volleyball at age 10.   Started coaching in 2016 as assistant for H2 STL.  Began coaching for Stratman Sports in 2016.


Alison Gartner

Coaching & Playing Background:  Played 3 Years High School Varsity Volleyball. Played 2 Years D3 College Volleyball.  1 season coaching for Power Hitter (15s).  2 Seasons coaching for TESL (16s & 17s). 1 Year coaching at Notre Dame High School (Freshman Coach/ assisted with Varsity).  Started coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017. 


Shawn Hughes

Coaching & Playing Background:  Shawn has been playing volleyball since he was in 3rd grade. Including 7 years with High Performance STL, winning a bronze medal at 2015 USAV Nationals.  Played varsity 4 years at SLUH, winning 2 state titles and earned various other individual awards (Player of the year, All State, All Metro, ect). Shawn is currently playing at Ohio State University where he won a NCAA National Championship in 2017. 


Mary Krause

Coaching & Playing Background:  Mary has been playing volleyball since she was 11. She was a libero at Lindbergh High School and finished up her 4 year college career at Missouri Baptist University as a DS/Libero in 2016.  Mary has background in coaching basketball and soccer with some one on one strength and developmental training since 2013. In 2016, she started coaching club with High Performance -STL (head coach for High Performance 11 Gray, and assistant coach for 14 Orange). Mary started working for Stratman Sports in 2016.

Coaching & Playing Background:  Sara has been playing volleyball for 15 years. She played in grade school and played 4 years varsity at Bishop Dubourg High School.  She has been coaching and reffing for over 9 years.  She assistant coached SHF boy's team for 5 years, starting when she was in 8th grade. Sara assistant coached / mentored for Midwest Select for 2 years and was the 8th grade girls head coach at St Francis of Assisi for one year. Sara currently refs, coaches, and plays volleyball all over St Louis. Sara has been coaching 7th grade - high school level for two years now at Stratman sports, including private lessons. She strives to instill her players with strong work ethic, good sportsmanship, and her love of the game.


Katie Luepke-Eyster

Coaching & Playing Background:  Katie Luepke-Eyster has been playing volleyball since she was 11 years old.  She played middle hitter for Concordia Lutheran High School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  She also played for The Ft. Wayne Volleyball Club.  Katie coached a 14U team for F.O.C.U.S. Volleyball Club in Chicago and a 12U team for TESL Club in St. Louis.  Katie is IMPACT certified, and she has been coaching middle school girls' and boys' volleyball for 12 years.  She currently plays right side for a USAV Women's Volleyball Team. 


Olivia Nahlik

Coaching & Playing Background:  Olivia has been playing volleyball since she was 11. She was a libero at Festus High School (2 years on varsity) and is currently playing at Missouri Baptist University as a DS/LIBERO. In 2016, she started coaching club with High Performance-STL (head coach for High Performance 11 White). Olivia strated working for Stratman Sports in 2015 and began coaching in 2016.


Megan Ramsey

Coaching & Playing Background:  Megan Ramsey has been involved in volleyball since she was 11 years old.  She went to Northwest High School where she played four years varsity as an outside hitter. After high school she went and played one year at Lewis and Clark and one year at St. Louis Community College. She's reffed volleyball since 2011 and has coached for Stratman Sports since 2015.

Coaching & Playing Background:  Spencer was a 3-year starter at Westerville South High School in Columbus, Ohio. He moved to Missouri in 2005, where he played for Missouri Valley College, Fontbonne University, and Missouri Baptist University. He has played 11 years of outdoor Volleyball around the Midwest.  Spencer has coached since 2007 for Team Momentum, High Performance, Rockwood Thunder and Missouri Baptist University's Women's JV. He is IMPACT Certified.


Carlie Rodgers

Coaching & Playing Background: 
Carlie has been playing club ball since  8 years old . Reached the medal rounds twice at Junior Nationals with her club team, High Performance-STL.  In 2016, Carlie was named to the All Tournament Team. In 2015, Carlie trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs with the National High Performance Team.  Carlie started coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.


Makenzie Rodgers

Makenzie has been playing club ball since 8 years old.  Played for High Performance-STL as the Libero / DS since 2012.  Started coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.


Jenna Rodriguez

Coaching & Playing Background:  Jenna Rodriguez is currently a freshman at Webster University. She has played volleyball for the past nine years. Now, she competes on the Webster Volleyball team as a setter. Before college, she attended Freeburg Community High School, and had played four years at the varsity level being a captain for three of her years there. In addition, she has eight years playing competitive club for various teams. As for coaching, 2014-2016+ she has helped coach the Route 3 club volleyball team and various YMCA teams.  Started coaching with Stratman Sports in 2016.


Madison Schoen

Coaching & Playing Background:  
Madison Schoen grew up playing club volleyball and played through high school.  She has been involved with Stratman Sports since 2012. Madison started at Stratman Sports as a referee for both adult and junior leagues. Madison began coaching in 2014 and has been involved in coaching many age groups, but has the most experience with 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  She wants her players to learn the importance of basic volleyball skills while also having fun.  She prides herself on staying positive and giving constructive feedback while in games and practices. Coaching is a way for her to have fun with all of her players while also teaching them this amazing game of volleyball.

Jenny has played/coached volleyball in the St.Louis area for over 30 years including but not limited to Affton High School,  St.Louis University, St. Louis Community College-Meramec,  Parkway South, and Elite VBC.


Maddy Stoecklein

Coaching & Playing Background: 
Maddy Stoecklein has been playing volleyball since she was 9 and played for High Performance STL since 11's. She  played varsity volleyball at Lindbergh High School for 3 years.  Maddy also coaches in the 10's program for High Performance, and has been doing so since 2016.  Maddy began coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.


Sammy Stoecklein

Coaching & Playing Background: 
Sammy Stoecklein played high school varsity volleyball for Lindbergh High School. She also played club volleyball at High Performance STL from 2010 to 2016. In 2016, her team placed 3rd in the 16u Patriot Division at the Junior National Tournament! Sammy has also helped out with coaching the 10's program at HPSTL since 2015.  Sammy started coaching for Stratman Sports in 2017.


Julie Watson

Junior Volleyball Head Coach

Coaching & Playing Background:  Julie has played competitive volleyball for 12 years. She was the captain of her high school team at North Boone High School located near Rockford, IL as well as captain of her club team, Rockford Volleyball. She attended Northern Michigan University where she was captain of their club team, where one of the team's highlights was bringing home a first place trophy in the Wolverine Winter Classic at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Julie spent most of her career as an OH, but has also started as an MB, S, and DS/L. She has coached several seasons of fourth grade co-ed volleyball at her local YMCA in her hometown. As a coach she strives to focus on teamwork, an understanding of the game and mastery of the fundamentals.


Tom Winkelmann

Junior Volleyball Head Coach

Coaching & Playing Background:  Tom has been coaching multiple sports for the past 24 years.  His most recent coaching job was at Fontbonne University for cross country and track and field in 2010. Tom retired from coaching collegiate sports and now coaches adult softball in the spring and junior girls volleyball in the winter.
